DIY Glitter Branches

How To: DIY Glitter Branches

It's that time of year, when the night's are drawing closer, your log fire is begging to be lit and preparations are being made for the upcoming festive season.  With this seasonal change your attention may be turning to your home and way's in which you can create a warm and cosy atmosphere.

Along with some festive recipes we will also be sharing  festive inspired home décor DIY's  on the blog over the next few weeks. This Friday we're excited to share an easy but very effective glitter branch ornamental decoration for your home.

Let's get started...

Instructions
  • Find a tree branch the size you require.  Use lopping shears to cut and shape.
  • Spray it with silver or gold spray paint to cover.  Let dry.
  • Spray the branch with spray glue/adhesive until it is covered.
  •  Lay a few sheets of newspaper (enough to cover your workspace or floor.
  • Sprinkle the glitter onto your branch so the excess glitter falls onto the newspaper and you can re-use it.
  • We recommend this outside so the glitter doesn't go over everything.
  • To create an icy effect – apply some white glue in several places along the branch.
  • Clear off the newspaper and then apply some of the clear acrylic beads over the wet glue.
  •  Collect the excess that falls onto the newspaper to re-use until an effect of "snow/ice" build up is created.
Happy Friday everyone!

We hope you've all got something nice planned for the weekend ahead!
