Sweet Pastry

With pie season well and truly upon us and our new pie crust shield purchased thanks to yesterdays post. We're now on our way to making the perfect Autumn pie. However we more than anyone understand that you may be a little wary of trying out this dough due to your lack of knowledge regarding sweet pastry, which is completely understandable. But please let us calm your woes and show you exactly how to make sweet pastry that is so basic you'll seriously be wondering why on earth you postponed your pie baking for so long....

Basic Sweet Pastry

  • 225g/8oz plain flour
  • 110g/4oz butter
  • 80g/3oz sugar 
  • 1 large egg
  • Crumb together by hand the butter in to the flour 
  • Add the sugar 
  • Mix in the egg and enough milk to form a soft dough 
 There we said it was super easy huh!?
